IXTLI is a facial massage tool, handcrafted in Mexico from obsidian sourced from San Marcos, Ahuatepec, Morelos. Its name comes from the Nahuatl word ixtli, meaning “face”—a word that connects visible identity with what takes place within us.

Born from the cooling of lava, obsidian is a natural volcanic glass deeply rooted in Mesoamerican culture, where it was used for centuries to create tools, ornaments, ceremonial objects, and mirrors.

Its shape has been designed to adapt to the contours of the face, neck, and décolleté and to accompany the different massage techniques of the AYUNA ritual. Used together with CELLULAR OIL or MICELLAR OIL, it allows for precise work on the facial fascia, helping to release tension and support drainage and circulation, leaving the face looking more rested, defined, and luminous.

Each IXTLI preserves the natural variations of the obsidian and the marks of its handcrafted making. No two pieces are exactly alike.

APPLICATION

Apply CELLULAR OIL or MICELLAR OIL to the face, neck and décolleté using slow gliding movements. The skin should feel supple and receptive before beginning.

Use Ixtli to perform the different movements of the AYUNA facial massage protocol, adapting the pressure and movement to each area. Work with slow, mindful movements, keeping the tool in continuous contact with the skin.

The ritual can be performed for 5–10 minutes, following the specific Ixtli facial massage techniques.
